Founder’s Notes

A behind the scenes look

America’s Plan is a one man work in progress at the moment. This page will give you some insight into my thinking and motivations for building the project.

About me

Last updated on: 2026.04.21 What I’m most afraid of is this project getting too much attention too fast. I need slow steady growth so I can build experience and make corrections as the it grows. But time will tell how this turns out.

2026.04.20 I am pretty well satisfied with the contents of this main site at the moment. I have 3 hubs populated with articles. Now it’s time to get serious about learning to manage and use the forum. I will also start a blue sky account. I already have a twitter account @americasplanorg so I need to start posting on both of them to get some traffic. I don’t want too much to start, just some real world feedback so I can begin the next step of learning to work with forum users and get feed back on the idea in general.

2026.04.14 Just finished a major audit and redo of the site. I reorganized the navigation and re-framed or rewrote many of the major articles. Thanks goodness for AI. It did all the heavy lifting now that I am learning how to work with it.

2026.04.09 I had someone look at this site for the first time, for their first impression. And boy was I in for a shock. Their perception of the site was nothing like I had designed for. So I am basically ripping everything apart. I’m starting over with the navigation and all the navigation level pages in order to make the presentation match my vision.

However this it’s not a total loss because I understand the overall model now. The next step is to rework the presentation and site navigation. The hard part is done because the idea is pretty much complete. Now I just need to fill in the blanks.

2026.04.07 I’m making the contact page active in case someone needs to get in touch with me.

2026.04.06 I decided to move this page to the top of the navigation menu so everyone will understand where this project is at the moment. This should head off lots of complaints and bug reports. And perhaps get some volunteers. This is a big project and will soon be too big for me to handle by myself.

  • I have the basic content and navigation pretty much blocked out but there are still lots of missing internal links. I will gradually make the links as I get the time.
  • The wiki is installed and running. But I don’t have any use for it at this moment.
  • The forum is installed and running but there is a significant learning curve. That will be my primary task for the near future: getting it organized and some basic content.

2026.03.14 I’m picking this as my official restart date for the blog. It has pretty much been dead for the last year as I’m an ideas man, not a content creator. But two things lead me to get started on it again.

  1. I came across this quote by Abraham Lincoln: “In this age, in this country, public sentiment is everything. With it, nothing can fail; against it, nothing can succeed. Whoever molds public sentiment goes deeper than he who enacts statutes, or pronounces judicial decisions.”
  2. And I came across this article by Matt Shumer titled “Something Big Is Happening” about how rapidly Artificial Intelligence is evolving.

His observations and recommendations in the article article motivated me to start learning how to use AI. My original intention was to simply make this a better blog site. But as I learned to use the AI tools the original blog format progressed into this collaboration hub idea. Its a move from one voice to many voices, which is much better way to move public sentiment.

2025.01.20 Donald Trump took office for the second time and pretty much confirmed all my suspicions. He began a wholesale remodeling of the government over the next few months with executive orders and his DOGE scheme. While I agree with many of his objectives, his methods and results exactly justify my assertion that America needs a long term comprehensive plan that will survive election cycles.

2025.01.02 I registered this domain name, americasplan.org, with the intention of making it a blog about America’s need for a long term comprehensive plan that would survive election cycles.

About me

I don’t want to be a high profile part of this project, so no photo or bio section. The only important thing about me that is significant is that I’m older as suggested in this article about students and retirees.
